Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Oakmont ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit oakmontshop.com (the "Site") or make a purchase from us. The Site is operated by Oakmont (the "data controller").

1. Information we collect

- Order information: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (if provided), and details of what you purchased.
- Payment information: processed securely by our payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.
- Device information: IP address, browser, time zone, pages viewed, and how you interacted with the Site, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Communications: emails you send our support team.

2. How we use it

- To fulfill your orders: process payment, arrange shipping, send order and shipping confirmations, and provide customer support and returns handling.
- To screen orders for fraud and risk.
- To email you about an order or a checkout you started but did not finish (for example, an abandoned-checkout reminder). You can stop these at any time via the unsubscribe link in the email.
- To send you marketing email only if you opted in. Every message contains an unsubscribe link that takes effect promptly, and in any case within the time required by law.
- To measure and improve our advertising and the Site itself.

3. Who we share it with

- Shopify Inc., which hosts our store and processes store data on our behalf.
- Fulfillment partners and carriers: we share your name, shipping address, and order contents with the warehouses and logistics partners that pack and ship your order. Some of these partners are located outside the United States; we share with them only what is necessary to deliver your order: your name, shipping address, and the items ordered.
- Payment providers (to process your payment) and, where required, fraud-prevention services.
- Advertising and analytics partners, such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram Pixel) and similar analytics tools, which set cookies to measure ad performance and site usage (see Cookies below).
- Authorities, when we are legally required to (e.g. lawful requests, tax obligations).

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies such as the Meta Pixel means we do "share" limited personal information (identifiers, device information, and browsing activity) with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California law defines those terms. California residents can opt out at any time via the cookie and "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" controls on the Site (provided through Shopify's built-in customer-privacy settings), by browsing with Global Privacy Control enabled (we honor GPC signals), or by emailing us (see "Your rights" below). Beyond that advertising "sharing", we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing.

The categories listed in sections 1 and 3 are the categories of personal information we have collected, and disclosed for a business purpose, in the preceding 12 months.

4. Cookies and advertising

The Site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function (cart, checkout, security) and, with your consent where required, analytics and advertising cookies, including the Meta Pixel, which help us measure the ads that brought you here. You can:

- manage your cookie and "Do Not Sell or Share" preferences at any time through the privacy controls on the Site, provided through Shopify's built-in customer-privacy settings;
- control cookies through your browser settings;
- opt out of interest-based advertising via https://optout.aboutads.info;
- adjust your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences.

We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising for that browser. Older "Do Not Track" signals have no settled meaning and are not acted on.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep order records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal obligations (tax and accounting records are typically kept for 7 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Support emails are kept for up to 2 years after the case is closed.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and, if applicable, the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to:

- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your personal information;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and port your data;
- opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising (California): via the cookie and "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" controls on the Site, a browser with Global Privacy Control enabled, or the email below.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@oakmontshop.com with the subject "Privacy request". We respond within the timeframe required by law (generally 30-45 days) and will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Security

The Site runs entirely over HTTPS, checkout is handled by Shopify's PCI-DSS-compliant infrastructure, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we treat your data with the same care we'd want for our own.

8. Children

The Site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time (for example, to reflect new tools or legal requirements). The "Last updated" date at the top always tells you the current version; material changes will be announced on the Site.
